Can we come to the park just for the day and use the amenities of the beach, picnic grounds and Water Park?

Yes. There is a daily admission fee to come into the park. Visiting the campground is included as well as swimming and picnic grounds. There is an additional fee to use the Water Park.

Can we swim without an Armband Pass?

Yes. The beach is open daily during the season and is included with any campsite, cabin and also daily guests.

Are Armband Passes included with cabin or campsite rentals?

No. Each member of the party can get these if height and age restrictions are met. Passes can be purchased for one or two days.

Do I need an Ohio Fishing License at Austin Lake?

No. The lake is privately owned and fishing licenses are not required.

What kind of fish are in the lake?

The lake supports many natural Ohio species such as Large & Small Mouth Bass,Yellow Perch, Crappie, Silver and Channel catfish, and many Blue Gill. Fish are stocked each year or two to increase the fish population. White Amur (grass eating carp) are also stocked to combat seaweed in the lake.

Is there a charge to fish in Austin Lake?

Yes. There is a daily fee or a yearly pass available.This helps to offset lake expenses of stocking. Fish may be kept if size requirement is met. There is no charge to fish in the fish ponds but they are all catch and release. Ponds are also stocked.

Can we bring our own kayaks?

Yes. There is a daily launch fee per boat. This is a good lake to enjoy your own kayaks. Please bring your own life jackets.

Can I bring a dog?

Yes. Dogs are welcome but must be non-vicious, kept on a leash, under control and quiet.

Where is my dog allowed to be?

All campsites are pet friendly. Some cabins are pet friendly but not all of them. Dogs cannot go on the sand at the beach but there is a Bowser Swimming Area by the boat launch. Dogs are allowed to go on rental pontoons and golf carts.

Can I bring my own golf cart?

Yes. We will need a paper copy of your golf cart insurance. Licensed drivers only are allowed to drive. The cart can be gas or electric and there is a fee for your stay. The cart cannot be a side by side or other recreational vehicle. It must be a true golf cart.

Are tents allowed?

Yes. We have a primitive area, Keyhole Run, for tents where several tents may camp together. There are no designated sites so you can pick your own spot.

Can I put a tent in the Full Hook Up area?

Yes. You will not need the sewer but the site will have electric, water, picnic table, fire ring and most have cement patios.

Can I put two units on one site if one is a tent?

No. Only one RV unit or tent per site. The second unit will have to get their own site and sign up separately.

Will my cell phone work at Austin Lake Park?

Yes and no. There is no cell signal that reaches into our valley. Some people are able to make calls or text on the WIFI.

I have heard that there is a steep hill coming into the park. Is this accurate?

Yes. The road coming off of St Rt 152 is a township road and is pretty steep and curvy. However, many large RVs have no problem navigating the road and return often. Tractor trailers, cement trucks and school buses use the road almost daily. Put your tow vehicle in low gear and take your time coming down the hill.

Can I rent a cabin for a month or year?

No. Cabins are available for short term only, 2 nights to a week.

Do you have seasonal sites?

Yes, seasonal sites are rented for 12 months if returning the next year. Campers may stay on their site when a fall deposit is made for the next year. Call the office for seasonal availability.

When do water activities begin?

Memorial Day is the traditional time for water activities to begin in Ohio. These include: swimming, the water park, kayaks, paddle boats, paddle boards and bumper boats.

When do water activities end for the season?

Labor Day is the traditional time for these activities to close for the fall and winter. The water park will be open including Labor Day. When school starts the last few weeks of August, the water area may not be available on weekdays due to staffing. Most employees have gone back to school, but we will be open on weekends.
